Reiki and Colourpuncture

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle and effective healing form that involves the transmission of energy (qi) through the hands. Traditionally, this was only performed in the East by Qi Gong masters. However, a Japanese master, Usui, found a way to teach others without the decades of training that used to be involved. This system is called Reiki.

ReikiA Reiki practitioner first imagines certain symbolic images to bring down healing qi (or in Japanese, ki), then the practitioner places his or her hands on the client's body. The client's own body then draws in the amount of life-force energy that it requires. It is felt as a warming and relaxing sensation by most people. The body utilizes this energy for relaxation, repair, and revitalisation.

Though Reiki has become quite a popular and relatively easy certification to achieve in recent years, at IMI we are blessed to have a Reiki master who has trained with some of the original teachers from the Usui Reiki Tradition. This master has taught over 6,000 students and teachers at seminars throughout the world.

Colourpuncture

Colourpuncture treatment involves the gentle application of coloured light frequencies, through small glass wands, to specific points and zones on the body. These frequencies give information to the body and emotions, prompting improved function and harmony throughout the entire being.

Colourpuncture treats the physical and the spiritual levels and can address many different needs. It is particularly effective in treating stress, endocrine imbalances, immune system deficiencies, migraine headaches, sleep disorders, organ imbalances, and depression. It works well in conjunction with other therapies.

Almost everyone will benefit from Colourpuncture sessions. The treatments can be applied to people of any age, including infants and the elderly. Healthy individuals will usually experience deep relaxation, better sleep, and an improved sense of well-being.

Most people will notice some effects from Colourpuncture during their very first treatment. Several treatments may be required to achieve the optimal effect for a particular condition. Often, people choose to continue treatments on a regular basis as a way of maintaining relaxation and good health.

Each treatment lasts approximately one hour. Clients are advised to wear loose clothing that will permit access to the legs and arms, as well as the back and the abdominal area. During the session, the client lies on the treatment table while the therapist applies the Colourpuncture wand to zones on the body. Clients can give feedback to the therapist or simply allow themselves to relax completely.
