Sugar Avoidance List

Anything containing:
Cane syrup, high fructose corn syrup, beet sugar, molasses, treacle, golden syrup, sucrose, glucose, dextrose, etc.

Therefore:
  • Sweets, chocolate, candies, lollies, or whatever you call them
  • Practically all cakes, desserts and biscuits
  • Nearly all breakfast cereals – if the level is less that 3 grams sugar per 100 grams is acceptable
  • Most canned food e.g. baked beans, peas, sweet corn, fruit in syrup
  • Soft drinks and fruit juice “drinks”
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Pickles, chutneys, tomato sauce ketchups, etc., normally sugared
  • Many packet foods, e.g. sauces, soups
  • Some enriched doughs e.g. currant teacakes
  • Ice cream, cream substitutes, etc.
